I attempted to close a line of credit with US Bank. The line had a - balance and I received notice of annual fee -/-/-. I tried to close the line of credit but was told that could not happen after the annual fee had been billed even though per the billing statement the fee was not yet due. The line of credit was initially a cash flow manager for my law practice but I closed my practice -/-/2006 so for all intents and purposes this was a consumer line. I contacted the - number on my statement but was told that this must be resolved at the branch. When I called the branch I was told that the branch manger was on vacation ( not to return until after the due date ) but branch staff offered to contact the district manager. The District Manager, - -, refused to waive the annual fee.
