American Express has turned my debt over to a debt collector in -. This company has called various telephone numbers associated with the account ( including private cell phone numbers and work numbers ), has not identified who they are, but has discussed my debt with those who answer the numbers. They have called me personally claiming to be from American Express and ask for personal information including address, birthdate, and social security number - which I do not give. I have told them I will deal directly with American Express yet my friends, family, and I continue to get phone calls from unknown numbers, representatives who are from - with an - accent, and only identify themselves as being from AME-.
