Cashing a check without an account Deposits and withdrawals Florida

I received a corporate personal check from my company, which is a national company that uses PNC. I do not have an account with PNC. When I tried to cash this $27.00 check the teller said their would be a $10.00 fee. I do understand administration cost maybe $ - $5.00, but $10.00 is robbery. Good thing I did not need the money, so I deposited it into the bank I use locally. I also have - other banks I use. So how I look at this, - I would never use PNC for any banking in the future or open an account with them and second how about people who do not have much money and that $27.00 would mean food on the table or gas money to get to their job. I look at this as no more as cooperate Bank greed.
