Discover Student Loan Complaint

Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer having problems with customer service

Discover Student loan department,

Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Having problems with customer service Pennsylvania

I attended - - University, - campus and graduated in - 2015. On -/-/15, I received an email from Discover Student Loans stating that my loans had entered repayment and stating the amount for my first payment with a due date of -/-/15. I logged in to my account and paid it immediately ( as well as some additional payment ). On -/-/15 I logged into my account and noticed that it still had not registered as a payment ( though it had been taken out of my account ) and was still showing an amount due. At that time, I sent an email to customer service. I received a reply the next day stating that I had made the payment too early and it was applied to interest only, not my payment. The rep stated that because of the " system error '' they were requesting an " administrative forbearance '' that would not affect my allotted 12 months of hardship forbearance. On -/-/15 i replied for clarification that I had, indeed, paid my bill too early. On -/-/15, customer service again replied that I had paid my bill too early and a forbearance had been requested. On -/-/15, I checked the account again and realized that my account was now showing as overdue ( it was due on -/-/15 ) at which point I immediately paid the loan again to prevent any late payment issues and emailed customer service again, admittedly, with an attitude this time. On -/-/15, customer service replied that the forbearance had not gone through and that any accounts more than 30 days past due would be reported to credit bureaus. I replied today -/-/15 stating my displeasure with both Discover 's practice of penalizing me for paying early as well as customer service 's inability to handle the situation satisfactorily.
