Over the past few weeks I have received numerous calls from someone stating they were with the office of - -. They stated that they were calling to inform that there will be an investigation made on my current employment to include contacting my employer to have wages and employment information obtained. To prevent this action I would need to contact the office of - - at -. I contacted the number to find out that the company was - - -. After researching the company further I discovered that the group has had - other numbers with an address at a - in - NY. The number that come up on the caller ID was a - number -. I attempted to ask who the debt was being paid to and was told it was the -. I closed the account over 5 years ago because of false statements on the agreements and excessive fees. The account was removed from my credit report after I submitted the case to -. Now some investor has purchased the debt and is attempting to scam me for over 300 % of the amount that was settled 3 years ago. There is another instance where this company has contacted a person stating if the item is not paid it will effect their ability to get a bank account or even obtain employment.
