Our income has decreased since buying the house and now we have been facing difficulty paying our mortgage. We have requested a loan modification from Chase several times and been denied. Our current interest rate is 8.5 %. We have 15 years left with a principle of $38000.00. Why wo n't the bank lower our interest rate?
