I took out a 60 month car loan in - from California - -. In - I had to return the car and it was charged off in -. I contacted the legal department at - - and they said they have not been in communication with TransUnion. TransUnion has active dates on this account from - thru -. It 's been almost twelve years since the account was charged off but TransUnion is continuing to keep this bad mark on my credit report until -. When reviewing the dates and knowing there is a 7 year maximum on bad credit marks on a report, none of this makes any sense. - do not have this negative information on their reports.
