I applied for a mortgage modification as I was unable to make the payments on a home I own. This is not my primary resident, but rather a home I rent out to others. The mortgage company did offer me a modification where I can pay $540000.00 for the home which has been appraised at $320000.00. So this modification would allow me to pay over $220000.00 more than the home is actually worth.
