I am purchasing a house and my mother and my sister wire transferred my funds from - which I can use toward the purchase of a house. The wire transfer from my sister - - are held by the Bank of America. The funds came in on - -, 2015. Bank of America requested some additional information from the sending institution in -, such as the name and the physical address of the originator and the complete physical address and the economic need for the wire transfer. They got all the necessary information back on - -. However, Bank of America still does not release the funds. I have a settlement on - -, 2015. When I called the Wire Transfer Department at - I was advised by - that the Bank has a right to keep these money for as long as they need.
