I applied and received a car loan from Santander Consumer USA -/-/-. -/-/- I was having trouble making payments due to child support problems and reached out to Santander for help and guidance. They led me to believe that payments could be deferred and added to the end of the loan. What I did not realize was that I was modified into a simple interest loan with a balloon payment at maturity. Still to this day I have actually not been explained this product by Santander. Someone who used to work for them described what happened to me from looking at my statements. I had every reason to believe that when asking for help, Santander would have worked in my best interest, instead of using my hardship for their gain. I feel I have been deceived and have no recourse to get out of this loan. I want to make sure this does not happen to another as well as have some resolution as to how they have the ability to restructure a loan without me signing new documents or fully understanding what I was agreeing to.
