Improper contact or sharing of info Talked to a third party about my debt Louisiana

- - - - - Contacted extended family members of mine asking for me by my maiden name, which I 've been married for a long time. They claimed I had a debt and disclosed a dollar amount to the family members, but never stated what the debt was supposedly for, nor have they every contacted me. When I have tried to call it has either been a fast rapid busy signal or the person on the other end wants me to provide my SS # and personal information before they 'll speak with me about this supposed debt under my maiden name. I believe strongly it 's a scam, but regardless they keep calling other people, repeatedly badgering them, and stating each time different amounts that are supposedly owed.
