The debt I 've acquired is from an apartment complex in Texas I lived in about 5 years ago. Upon moving out I was charged my full deposit plus other ridiculous fees resulting in me owing over $500.00, which I had no intentions on paying. To this day I have never been contacted to repay this debt by the apartment company or the collections agency. The only reason I know it was turned over to collections is by checking my credit report.I still have had no contact with either party but am seeking information on how best to handle the situation.
