Amex Credit card department,

Closing/Cancelling account Washington

My credit report shows I have an AME- account with - balance. It 's been on my report for over a year and the credit reporting agencies say they ca n't remove it because it is something that AME- is reporting to them. I 've called AME- and they do n't have any record of me having an account with them which is true ... so I am not sure why it keeps showing up. It needs to be removed.
