Hello, - -, - I received a mailing from my local bank that I have had an account with for - and a half years. There was an application for a Pre Approved Credit Card '' in bold letters.I thought that because it was my local bank I would fill it out and send it in. I found out later that a hard inquiry showed up on my credit report. I called my bank and found that it was actually a credit card company that has a business relationship with my bank. I was also declined for the card. The issue is that between - and - my credit score suffered because of the loss of my business and my difficulty at finding a job at - years of age. Prior to that I had great credit and since then I have worked hard to improve my rating. I do n't think this company should advertise for Pre Approved Products that are not actually pre approved, especially through my local bank that I was led to believe the application came from. I contacted my bank and they were sorry for the misunderstanding but there was nothing they could do because it was a different company entirely.
