I tried to open a online savings bank account with Ally Bank with my Individual Taxpayer identification Number and after a phone call follow up i was asked for a image of my social security card. I informed the customer representative that I did not have a social security card, that all i had was my Individual Taxpayer Identification number and she proceeded to inform me that it was not possible to to open my savings bank account with only my Individual Taxpayer Identification number.
