Over three years ago, I lost a job that payed approximately $86000.00. Unable to find another position in that field, I have started a - career. Building a business takes some time and without an adequate income, some credit card payments could not be made. - the accounts that I have are with Chase Bank. On - account, they sent a letter, informing me that they were preparing to write off the account as a bad debt. Keep in mind that I have had these accounts for decades. However, on the other account, no letter was sent and they did write off the account as a bad debt. I called on - - and a lady checked their records and confirmed that no letter had been sent pursuant to that account. I told her that I intended to contact this agency, in regard to this despicable business practice. She ask me to give her a few days to see if this could be resolved. She informed me that she would call me back on - -. It is no - - and I have received no call. I called today and spoke to - people. The - person I spoke


no bank error. '' He also informed me that they are not legally obligated to send a notification that they are going to write off the debt. If so, the law is bad. I believe this is the type of unethical business practice from which your agency was designed to protect consumers. Hopefully, I am correct. The grand irony in this is that, as my business grows and matures, it is my full intention to pay off all of my outstanding debts, but Chase would rather write it off as a bad debt now instead of waiting for their repayment in full.
