In late -, I applied for a - - credit card from U.S. Bank. It advertised that for cardholders, the last night of each - - hotel award stay is free. I signed up for the credit card with that benefit as my primary motivation. Then, about a month after I received the card and after they charged me a $75.00 annual fee for the benefit, U.S. Bank announced they 're no longer offer the last award night free benefit. I think that 's extremely deceptive. I called in to say how disappointed I was and see if U.S. Bank is offering compensation. They offered me - - - points, which is next to nothing. For reference, the closest - - hotel to me in New Jersey is charging either $100.00 or - points for a room tonight. That 's a value of approximately $0.00 per point. That would mean - points is worth $7.00. That 's not even close to fair compensation for a benefit worth a free hotel nights ; a benefit that I already paid for through the annual fee.
