I recently opened a First Tennessee Visa account with the intention of transferring a balance from a MasterCard account I had with - -. I spoke to a representative at First Tennessee over the phone in -/-/- to initiate the balance transfer, and was told that it could take 7 - 10 days to process. After not hearing anything for 2 weeks, I called back and was told that the balance transfer had been approved and that everything was fine. I kept checking my First Tennessee account online, and noticed that my Visa 's balance was still -. After another 2 weeks, I called back again and was told that someone from their customer solutions department would reach out to me. A gentleman called me on -/-/2015 and told me that a check was cut to - - on -/-/2015, but that it was only good for 30 days so we would probably have to submit another balance transfer request. I did as I was told and requested another balance transfer via the First Tennessee website on -/-/2015. Finally, on -/-/2015 $6300.00 posted to my First Tennessee account as a balance transfer. I received a statement from - - showing that I had a - balance. I logged into my First Tennessee account yesterday ( -/-/2015 ) to find that the balance transfer had apparently been processed - and my balance was - what it should be!!! I immediately contacted First Tennessee and was again told that someone from their customer solutions department would reach out to me. I just received a call - - at First Tennessee and she advised me to contact - - and ask them to refund the overpayment. This is absolutely unacceptable and a complete waste of my time. If First Tennessee advised me to submit another balance transfer, then they should have put a stop payment on the - check they cut to - -. First Tennessee needs to refund my credit card, and deal with - - on their own time.
