Non-federal student loan Can't repay my loan Florida

I have been in contact with my private student loan lender Discover Student Loans several times since - 2014 to try and make my monthly payment more feasible so I can afford to live. I have been told to either use forbearance or default my loans and that they can not help me. They want me to pay nearly $700.00 a month, while trying to live and pay other bills. I also have federal loans that are in non repayment right now until I can get something resolved with Discover and be able to afford to repay my loans. I am willing to work overtime to pay Discover a settled amount every month so everyone is happy they are getting money. But, Discover will not work with me to make it to where I can live and afford my bills.
