Amex consumers have reported over 27 official complaints related to Adding money. Out of the 27 consumer complaints against Amex, 19% were disputed by the consumer (i.e. the consumer was not happy with how Amex responded to their complaint) and 100% were processed in a timely manner. 37% of consumer complaints against Amex resulted in the consumer receiving monetary compensation (e.g. money, cash reimbursement, etc.) and 4% resulted in non-monetary compensation.

Amex Prepaid card adding money November 9, 2016 - On - -, 2016 i went to - to load - dollars cash on my american express serve prepaid card. The money never posted to my account. I have spent countless hours since that day on the phone with amex serve customer service. To no avail. They keep giving me the same runaround. They say they ate investigating the problem. As a result i wasnt able to pay my car insurance resulting in a cancelled policy. Also resulting in my vehicle registration being suspended due to no insurance. Amex Prepaid card adding money August 27, 2016 - I had setup recurring loads ( $25.00 ) on my Amex Serve card from my Checking Account through the linked Debit Card. Basically with the idea of saving few bucks everyday. I also had a Direct Deposit ( part from my pay check ) getting credited to this account twice a month. I also used this for few purchases once in a while and I used this card primarily for Emergency fund and had around $5000.00 + left in my account. I assumed it was to ensure the check cleared. What they do n't tell you is that they use a vendor to evaluate whether or not to accept the check.
