I believe under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, I have the right to request that you allow me to validate the alleged debt. I am aware that there is a debt from - but I am unaware of the amount due and your bill does not include a breakdown of any fees. A debt collection agency has placed a negative trade line on my credit report without providing the validation of debt requested and a reasonable opportunity to investigate the putative debt. This is important because ( - ) I previously owed money to the original creditor that was handled by Focused Recovery that was discharged in a Chapter - bankruptcy and ( - ) I may have been a victim of identity theft.
