What's a Robocall?
If you answer the phone and hear a recorded message instead of a live person, it's a robocall. You've probably gotten robocalls about candidates running for office, or charities asking for donations. These robocalls are allowed. But if the recording is a sales message and you haven't given your written permission to get calls from the company on the other end, the call is illegal. In addition to the phone calls being illegal, their pitch most likely is a scam.

Presto Auto Loans, Inc. Debt collection false statements or representation attempted to collect wrong amount June 2, 2015 - Back in 2008 I obtained an Payday loan. I then had to file for bankruptcy and then it got dismissed. Most of my debt form that bankruptcy it appears on my credit report. I attempted to pay this off as it states on my credit report that I owe $130.00 to clear this off. I called to pay this off and clear the debt. They refuse to take the $130.00 that they are reporting and now they want me to pay over $500.00. I have all the emails and correspondence of this attempts to settle and their response.
