Performant Financial Corporation Debt collection taking/threatening an illegal action seized/attempted to seize property June 30, 2015 - Performant recovery sent me a bill for the dept of taxation in the state of louisiana for the year -/-/-. I filed a federal return for the year -/-/-, and was supposed to get around $2600.00 back. The state of Louisiana offset my federal return and applied the amount of my tax return to the amount that I owe the state of Louisiana which was $3000.00. I phoned the department of taxation through the state of Louisiana, and they were not able to return any information as far as my state taxes taking my federal return.
