Citibank Credit card department,
I contacted Sears after reviewing my account online. On my account summary it showed - separate accounts. After seeing this I contacted Sears customer services I had to repeat myself over and over again asking why I have - different accounts. I informed the customer service representative that the only card is the account ending in - with an expiration date -/-/-. The customer services representative immediately said " Oh would like a new card ''. I continued asking her why I have - different accounts. Finally she gave me the explanation that it was my old account. I still do not understand why that account number is still showing on my account. The customer representative asked me again if I would like a new card. I said " ok ''. The customer service representative put me on hold. She came back on the phone to confirm my mailing address. Then informed me that my new card would be sent. I woke up the next morning finding out that my credit was pulled By Citi ( which provides Sears the credit card ). I have contacted Sears/Citi. I am currently in the process of purchasing my first home. I will be going to closing on -/-/- or -/-/- I never said yes you can pull my credit. Citi bank contacted me today the presidential office stating that it is common practice for Citi to do this when a new card is requested to protect against fraud.
