The interest rates charged by Barclay Bank Delaware on credit cards exceeds 19 % and is usurious. I requested that the interest be lowered so that I could pay the card off in 3 payments and was told that it could not be lowered. I am a senior. The balance on my card is $12000.00. and $3200.00 respectively. I have asked numerous times for a reduction and have been told that nothing can be done. I have been told by my attorney just to stop making payments on the accounts because they will not work with me. They have told me that settlement on the accounts, even if they are paid in full would ruin my credit. I want the interest reduced to 8 - 9 % on each card. I do not want them reinstated - the bank cancelled them because I did not pay enough money on them despite the fact that I paid more than the minimum and have done so for years.
