I have an argument with Bank Of America ( BOA ) on payment crediting date on their credit cards. The situation is very simple. I have an - credit card with BOA. A transaction of $32.00 was posted on -/-/2017. Around - PST -/-/2017, I submitted a payment of $32.00 on BOA online banking website. Coincidentally, the statement date for my - credit card is -/-/-. So I would expect the statement balance to be - because the $32.00 was submitted - PST on that day. However, this is not the case after I see what BOA online banking shows today ( -/-/- ). The statement balance is $32.00. So I called BOA about the problem. After I was transferred to the right person, he was trying to explain that credit card balance will not be updated until the payment is completely processed, which I agree. However, statement balance should be - after the payment is submitted before the cutoff time. I do n't care how much time BOA


the payment due date and I made payment that day - PST? This is not fair for statement balance because that is what interests are calculated from. Currently I am holding around - credit cards with different issuers, including -, -, - and -. All these issuers will take the last day payment into account for calculating statement balance even if I make a payment on Saturday, as long as the payment submission time is before the payment cutoff time. I do believe that BOA 's behavior is kind of predatory on customers because it accounts for additional time over which customers have no control. I would kindly ask BOA to correct the statement balance to - and report an update of statement balance to all the credit bureaus.Otherwise I would prefer to end the credit card relationships with BOA for its predatory behaviors.
