Wells Fargo & Company Credit card department,
In -/-/- I got a secured credit card from Wells Fargo with a deposit of $4000.00. I was told that this secured credit card would be turned into an unsecured credit period if after a year I had maintained the card in good standing. I subsequently got another secured credit card from - under the same terms. One year later - returned my deposit and upgraded my account to unsecured, but after 16 months, Wells Fargo refuses to upgrade my card and return my deposit. When I questioned the reason for the refusal, they say that my credit report does not meet the standards to upgrade the card, yet they wo n't tell me what exactly is required in order to upgrade - just that my account is unsatisfactory. When I escalated the grievance I spoke with -, ID # - with Wells Fargo Credit Card Executive office, he told me that he shared the guidelines with me and that 's why they could n't upgrade the card, but he did NOT share the guidelines, he refused to tell me what it was that was preventing the card from being upgraded, he only stated that it was unsatisfactory. I have no way to get this deposit back other than close the account, which will adversely affect my credit score. Wells Fargo will not tell me why they wo n't give my deposit back, but - did without even asking for it. I have no recourse - I am at the mercy of Wells Fargo deciding that someday my credit might be good enough to have the deposit returned and the card upgraded to an unsecured card. Customers have no recourse and they refuse to tell me what the requirements are. What can I do to get them to return the deposit and upgrade the card, or at least tell me exactly what on my credit report is preventing this.
