Citibank Credit card department,
Advertising and marketing California
On -/-/2016 a timeshare was purchased from - - , - based on false information that was provided during a verbal timeshare presentation. However, the written contract documents do not match the verbal statements that were made. I agreed to the purchase and I provided them the credit card to make the down payment and also to draft the monthly payments. I did authorize these charges, based on their verbal presentation of what I was purchasing. However, the contract documents do not match what they told me verbally and as soon as I became aware the that the terms and conditions for the usage were completely different that what I was advised, I immediately sent a letter of cancellation on -/-/2016. They advised my request, stating I had signed a legally binding contract and continued to charge my card. I began disputing the charges to my account and have lost a total of $3200.00 to this timeshare scam. I can not use the product that they sold me, they have provided no services to me and wo n't let me cancel the contract and refuse to return my money. I was forced to hire an attorney and am still trying to get my money back from - via my credit card provider, Citi Cards. Please be advised there is a language barrier as English is not my primary language and no one would assist me in understanding the documents and rushed me through the closing process.
