Experian Credit Reporting Complaint

Credit monitoring or identity protection billing dispute

Experian Credit reporting department,

Credit monitoring or identity protection Billing dispute Missouri

I contacted Experian to have the credit freeze removed from account. I was asked how long I would like it to last and I responded 7 days. The information was confirmed and then I was told that it would cost $5.00 to complete the transaction. I asked if removing the freeze again would result in another $5.00 charge and was told yes. I told the rep that I did not wish to reinitiate the freeze and it could be lifted permanently if a fee were involved. The rep told me it was too late and that he had already processed the refreeze. I told him you did not tell me there would be a fee to handle the transaction prior to questioning if I wanted to reinitiate a freeze. The rep said I did n't know if I could lift it until I already did it. I advised that I would be contacting the CFPB to file a complaint and asked to speak to a manager. He advised no manager available. Lifting this freeze on my credit will now cost me a total of $10.00 of which I was not made aware prior to the processing of the order.
