U.S. Bancorp Credit card department,
I received an email from US Bank stating that I was past due on my credit card. I have always paid my balance off in full every month. I called on it, and US Bank somehow changed my address on my account. They were sending my statements to an old address ( -, -, MO ). Then, they hit my card with late fees and interest, and they said the address could only be changed by us calling or the post office. I NEVER authorized my address to be changed. Then, they have hit my card again with a late fee and more interest charges as we have been trying to resolve the problem. Now, my privacy has been disclosed and my card # has been given to whoever lives at -, -, MO. I called them again tonight to see what is going on, and now they have reported it as a late payment on my credit bureau. I have perfect credit, and now it is going to take forever to get this situation resolved. I asked for a letter from US Bank stating this was their error and that I wanted it to be taken off of my credit. But, the manager ( - ) stated that I would have to write a letter to their dispute department even though it was their fault my private information was being sent to an old address. Then, I asked how do I file a complaint with the CFPB, and they did n't know. Anyway, I just want this cleared up where it does n't show on my credit history as a late payment and a letter from US Bank stating this was their error.
