Citibank Credit card department,
I was declined for a credit card in spite of having a credit report with no adverse ( late payment ) information, a credit score near - and 3 % utilization of available credit. After receiving the credit report, Citi requested additional information including copies of bank account statements and a copy of my federal tax return which I provided. Twice the reason given for turning down credit was " could n't verify the accuracy of ... information provided. '' I was given no opportunity to discuss this with anyone or provide further information. Lacking any reasonable reason for credit being declined I am left to conclude that the fact that I am - years old is the real reason this credit was declined.
