Other (i.e. phone, health club, etc.) Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt is not mine Washington
I filled out a form of cancellation for a - located in -, Washington and they misfiled it back in late-/-/-/early-/-/2016. The debit card connected to membership, around the same time of my membership cancellation, got lost so I cancelled it as well. I did n't inform them of the card cancellation because I thought I had cancelled my membership effectively. They continued trying to charge my cancelled debit card into the coming -/-/- before they informed me that the National Credit Services would take on the debt. National Credit Services sent mail to an old address of mine to which I could not retrieve it. They are trying to collect debt from me, but I should not have to pay this debt because the gym themselves misfiled my cancellation. What if they did this on purpose to profit off my cancellation? They claim I need proof that I cancelled but after filling out two cancellation forms ( another one in -/-/- to stop further charging to my account ) I was not presented with any certificate of proof.
