Experian Credit reporting department,
Credit monitoring or identity protection Billing dispute Tennessee
I contacted Experian today requesting a refund for an apparent membership that I did not realize I was signing up for. I went to the website on -/-/- to purchase a credit report that I thought was free but I saw that I had to pay - so I thought it was just a processing fee and then $21.00 came out of my account 10 days later, which I just saw today and I did not authorize or think I was authorizing. What I saw when I went to the website on my phone on -/-/- is in the attached image. The supervisors I spoke with today said they could not issue me a refund because it clearly states on the website that I was supposed to cancel within one week but here 's the thing, I NEVER saw the important information section that is listed on the website because you have to scroll down to see it from mobile. It 's on a separate screen. How deceiving! Seriously! Deceptive mArketing at its best, advertising a purchase for $1.00 and then misleading customers into a monthly subscription. All I saw was that front page which prompts you to immediately click the button, so I clicked on it thinking I was purchasing a credit report for one dollar and that was it. I did not sign up for anything I did not authorize any reoccurring payment on my end. Today I called and did cancel after finding out that they had signed me up for this. I feel very deceived and I would like my $21.00 back.
