Citibank Credit card department,
Advertising and marketing New York
For the past three weeks, I 've been getting bombarded with convenience checks offers from Citibank in the mail. I wrote one convenience check and I deposited into my bank account at -. A couple of days later, the check was returned by Citibank citing that I exceeded my credit limit and I was charged $15.00 returned check fee by -. The marketing materials that Citibank sent, one a week, is very misleading. The marketing materials tell you what your overall credit limit is. Then they tell you in another part of the marketing materials what your available credit balance is, but in fine print are the charges and fees that are charged. In my opinion, the presentation of the cost of the fees is buried in the marketing material and is misleading. The marketing materials are misleading since the fee are not explained properly and is in very small print as opposed to your credit limit and available credit is in a larger font. I would like Citibank to reimburse my the $15.00 returned check fee charged by - via a statement credit on my Citi Double Cash credit card statement. In conclusion, I believe the marketing materials are misleading and I should be reimbursed the $15.00 charged by -.
