Citibank Bank account or service department,
Checking account Deposits and withdrawals New York
I tried to withdraw up to $300.00 from my Citibank IRA today on -/-/2017 to transfer to my Checking account today so that we could use the funds for important necessary purchases and also prevent my checking account from being overdrawn. To save time I did the transaction over the phone. Because I did the transaction on the phone Citibank is refusing to make the funds available for a whole day. While this may not be an absolute hardship today it could be if I was bedridden or in a hospital. I even went into my branch at - - - - NY and they told me they could do nothing. I would like some kind of compensation for the over hour 's worth of time I spent today and I got nothing done. Perhaps the CFPB should require banks to make funds available from retirement accounts of the same bank on an immediate basis since the bank will not do this voluntarily. I wonder if there is any federal law, rule or regulation which also caused this to happen.
