Citibank Credit card department,
Closing/Cancelling account Washington
I am trying to cancel my - credit cards with citibank I am trying to pay the balances and close the accounts. Due to " fraud prevention '' they are unwilling to do so. I was able to pay the balance on - card online but they are now refusing to allow me to cancel the card because they claim they ca n't verify my identity with out providing a relatives phone number. I was able to apply for, activate, sign up for online bill pay, and use the card with my phone number but now it is fraudulent. The other account they refuse to take a payment because they need a relatives phone number to verify the account. All I am trying to do is close these accounts.
