Bank of America Credit card department,
Closing/Cancelling account Michigan
I had an - - Visa Card issued by Bank of America. The annual payment came due in - - and I decided that I no longer wanted the card. I contacted BoA customer service in - - and after their several attempts to retain me they agreed to cancel the account. On - - - I received a bill for the annual card fee. This bill contained a BofA late payment warning fee. I immediately called BofA and determined that, although they cancelled my account, they did not cancel the annual fee and have been reporting my account as past due to the reporting agencies. I spoke with - - at Bof A ( - ) and she assigned case no.-. She assures me that my account will be credited and that the credit reporting agencies will be notified that there was/is no late payment.
