I was charged a $27.00 late fee because GE Capital Lowe 's card prohibits their auto-pay users from paying prior to the due date and forces all auto-payments to be made on the exact day due. Such prohibition assures millions in late fees whenever a bank holiday prevents timely payment for their auto-pay users. Clicking on the chat icon directs the consumer to a defunct link. GE Capital Lowe 's card additionally prohibits purchases of small items who wish to pay off their purchases before incurring interest from doing so if the same consumer already entered into a low-interest long-term fixed payment agreement for a big ticket item balance also on the same card account. Thus any money sent even if it is multiples of teh monthly payment on the long-term loan only gets applied to the low-interest long-term loan forcing the consumer into paying 5-6 times higher interest on small purchases. Lowe 's response that all you have to do is call each month to rectify but after doing this three times in a row and being tossed back and forth between departments to be re-validated for 30-90 minutes each time it is cheaper to simply never use the Lowe 's credit card for small purchases if you still have a loan balance for a long-term agreement at a low interest rate.
