When I was approved for my auto loan. The bank rep said I was approved for a credit card. I clarified if it was an application for a preapproval or was I already approved. SHe responded that I was already approved. I said ok. SHe explained that I have an introductory offer of 0 % interest for 12 months on new purchases. I asked could I prepay 12 months of my auto loan on the card. It makes sense to paydown an interest loan on a card with no interest. SHe responded that she did not know & that I should call the loan department. Instead of prepaying on my auto loan. I made some large purchases. Two were prepaying other bills to receive a discount & the third was an expensive watch. When I received my first bill I saw I was charged interest. I contacted US Bank through their website explaining the situation. I also explained that I was lied to on a previous card application. I was also told I had no interest for 12 months & 1 % cash back. I received a response explaining what the introductory offer was. Which did not include 0 % interest on new purchases. They basically danced around my complaint & blew me off. Last - I emailed the rep who assisted me with the auto loan. I still have yet to receive a response. I do n't like being lied to so that you can make a sale, earn a spiff, or anything else. THen for the company just to not even address the complaint is -! Now I am paying interest which counter productive on the savings for prepaying & on a watch that I would not have purchased.
