JPMorgan Chase & Co. Credit card department,
I have been a Chase credit card customer since -/-/- and requested a line of credit increase on -/-/-. I asked the customer service person if this would be a Hard Inquiry given I was already a customer. He led me to believe it would be a Soft Inquiry. Upon checking my credit report days later, I discovered Chase placed a Hard Inquiry on my credit report. When I called them they said they would review the recorded conversation and get back with me. I received a call from Chase a week later ( -/-/- ) indicating their review results were that I " knew '' their inquiry would be a Hard Inquiry on my credit report and refused to remove it. I requested a transcript of the conversation indicating that I " knew '' this was going to be a Hard Inquiry and they refused to provide the evidence to me. As a result of Chase 's Hard Inquiry, my - score dropped - points. I use my - score for mortgage loans as I rehab houses for resell. This has effected my ability to obtain favorable interest rates.
