Citibank Credit card department,
I submitted a phone payment for a home depot credit card and was given a confirmation number as having been paid. At my next billing cycle, I saw that the amount was past, and I called and found out that the payment had been declined after 3 days. I was reported to the credit agencies. I contacted the credit card and they acknowledge having given me a payment confirmation but they refuse to retract their credit reporting, leaving me with a late payment on my credit history. I was never notified by them that the payment had been declined until my next statement. I had money in the bank to complete the transaction at the time so I am not sure why they would confirm payment and then decline it.
