Upon graduation, I had went into immediate repayment. I was unemployed at the time. I contacted Wells Fargo about the loan and they said the only thing they could do was I make a - month payment before I could get a - month forbearance. I had - months of unemployment and then when I did finally get a job, it was part-time at minimum wage. I called and went back and forth with Wells Fargo for a couple months when it went back into repayment, unable to get a lower payment or any options for assistance. During that time, I could n't make any payments which put me behind on my loan. I convinced my boss to give me more hours and managed to scrounge up the monthly payment and made - consecutive payments to keep from defaulting but I still was n't able to catch up. This resulted in many calls, almost daily, from Wells Fargo while I was at work, very early in the morning, or past my bed time. Even if I was capable of answering their calls, they would n't offer any assistance and were just demanding that I pay the full past-due amount, which I could n't do. They have also sent monthly notices about my loan being - payment from charge-off. Now that I 've finally secured a full-time job this past month and can make the monthly payments without too much struggle, the last payment did n't go through for some reason. I called in the morning of the next business day, since they were closed for new years and the day after, only to find out they charged off my loan and now I have no options to rectify the situation at all. Not even giving me any business hours to rectify the payment I had tried to submit before. So now my loan is headed to default as I ca n't pay in full once it goes to the collection department.
