Barclays PLC Credit card department,
At the beginning of this year I pulled my credit report and I saw a closed credit account from Barclays Bank. But in my knowledge I never applied for any credit card from this bank. I never received a collection call. When I called their customer service they have advised me to make a payment of - dollar for the settlement of the account as I told them this is not my account and I have never received any statements. Then the representative took my email addres, my home address and my phone number and processed a payment through my debit card. After that the representatives emailed me a bunch of card statements and a notice. But still to date that account shows on my credit report and is adversely affecting my credit score. I tried to talk to their collection agency several times but they never responded and advised me we are looking into the matter and months passed by but they never responded or gave me any advise what they are doing with this account which was not authorized by me.
