I made a $20000.00 payment on my Citi - AAvantage card. It was a direct transfer from my checking account. WITHOUT TELLING ME they placed a 15 day hold on this payment and then denied charges because I was over my credit line. I had to talk to - people and the bank to prove that they had the money ON THE DAY I PAID IT. Basically they collected interest on this money for 9 days. I was able to force them to acknowledge that, and to correct their error. But the the first person tried to tell me I had to wait 15 days, which is ridiculous because those transfers are relatively instantaneous.
