I received a letter from Chase saying I was eligible to apply for a Chase - business credit card for my business. I applied for the card and received a letter telling me I was denied because I had had too many credit cards opened in the previous - years. I called their help line and was informed that even though I had never missed a late payment on a credit card, my FICO score is -, and - of the - credit cards in my credit history were closed at the time of the application, and the - credit card I still have open is a Chase credit card with a $31000.00 limit, that they would not approve me for another credit card. I expressed that I was willing to provide Chase bank with additional proof, including statements and other information from - other Chase - cards that I had received over the past - years to demonstrate my credit-worthiness, in accordance with - Rules concerning evaluation of applications. ( - ) - history. ( ii ) which reads : " On the applicant 's request, any information the applicant may present that tends to indicate the credit history being considered by the creditor does not accurately reflect the applicant 's creditworthiness. '' I can clearly prove that I am creditworthy by any standard, and believe that Chase is denying me credit for a reason other than the - they are communicating, or that the criteria they are using ( the number of credit cards I had open ) is outside of any behavior that would indicate that I am credit worthy. I have been opening and closing multiple credit cards per year, mostly with Chase, for over - years, and this has never been a problem and has never negatively affected my creditworthiness.
