Citibank Credit card department,
I was issued a credit card at Macy 's but my address was incorrect due to an error of Macy 's. I made a credit card purchase of $24.00 but never received an invoice or billing statement. Macy 's referred my account to collection without ever sending a bill to my correct address, and has now added additional fees of $260.00 for a total due of $290.00. I have called Macy 's on -, -, -, -, and - attempting to rectify this collection issue and agreeing to pay the original amount charge of $24.00 and informed multiple representatives of my correct address. I have repeatedly asked to speak with a supervisor, which has repeatedly been denied. I sent the company a written dispute letter, for which there has never been a written response. I have never received an original bill for the purchase I made, nor given opportunity to pay the amount I owe, which is in violation of the FCRA. The address error is fully and completely a fault of Macy 's. Before collection proceedings began I should have had full opportunity to pay my bill, but never received - due to Macy 's error, not my own. My account should have never been referred to collection at all, and I have agreed repeatedly to pay my original purchase amount. The company refused to take any payment while the account was in dispute, but continued to charge outrageous fees. As of this date I have not received written communication even though Macy 's is fully aware of my correct address given to them repeated by telephone and in written communication.
