Wells Fargo & Company Credit card department,
Credit card protection / Debt protection Florida
An unauthorized $300.00 charge appeared on my Wells Fargo credit card on - -, 2016. The charge occurred in Florida at a restaurant - - while I was traveling in California. I immediately called to cancel my credit card and report the fraudulent charges. I then called the restaurant and they stated that someone purchased $300.00 worth of gift cards under the name " - - '' ( not my name ). Clearly it was a fraudulent charge. Wells Fargo shipped me a new card, but the charge carried over to the new card. Wells Fargo first failed to identify the fraudulent charge, has been incredibly unhelpful in both their fraud and dispute departments, has not removed the charge or even attempted to contact the merchant ( to my knowledge -/-/16 ) but has billed me for my latest credit card statement including the unauthorized charge. When I called their fraud department they state " disputes is handling it '', yet when I call their disputes department they state " fraud is handling it. '' They said it would be resolved in -10 days, but this process has continued for over four weeks now with no apparent care from Wells Fargo.
