I spoke with the Branch Manager of Mariner Financial in -, he spoke of helping me rebuild my credit. He then referred me to - car dealers, - being - -. When the Manager @ Mariner Finance thought I did n't go see - Rep. - he began to yell at me. Mariner Finance Manager called me on -/-/- to tell me that I was approved for a - - - with - miles and that I had to hurry up see - and bring the car up to him before his office closed. The call came approx. - : -. He wanted pics of the vehicle & additional bank statements at the last minute. The Old Squeeze Play last minute pressure. After signing the paperwork @ Mariner & then - - on a Friday after close of business.


Revealed to be a burnt out transmission by Asst. Mgr @ - in -. Then the battery died. Now Mariner is saying they are NOT responsible & only finance cars. They want me to pay for a dead vehicle that 's been inoperable for 9-10 weeks. After review of my contract my Interest Rate is exceptionally @ 24 %. for 48 months. I had participated in a credit recovery program by purchasing a car with -. - in - - and had paid it off and got a - from - [email protected] %. I had purchased a - Vehicle, a - - - from - and was 2 months away from the last payment when I re-financed with Mariner Finance. I was in an accident that totaled my car, and the - - - Check was given to Mariner for over -. Short about - owed balance. Branch Manager then gave me a check for over - to give to - for the purchase of the - - - which I had never been asked to drive a check anywhere in my history of buying - cars, which I felt was a little weird I was also offered NO Gap Insurance, which I complained about but was n't given any reason why it was denied to me. I believe I have been part of a scam based on the following : A. Race B. Economic status C. Credit Status. In housing we have " Predator Lenders '' & along this corridor of - there are Predator Lenders in Housing and I 've encountered 3 : -, - & - that almost cost me my inheritance residential property in - -. Now I add to the list Mariner Financ - & - -. In speaking with other - in that area, they have warned me too late that - - is NO good. The Branch Manager who I complained to about the car stated : " You 're the only one who has ever had a complai nt. I believe this to be untrue & Mariner 's process of referring to what is a known unethical criminal warrants investigation. I want out of this unfair & unethical association. Car given back & the monies I 've spent : $680.00 to Mariner for - car payments refunded as well as the monies I 've had to pay for rental cars from - for 7 weeks : $1600.00. This debacle & nightmare has cost me our - - due to paying unnecessary monies for rental cars. Thank You for your time & consideration! - - - -
