I rented a -bdrm from the - -/-/- to -/-/-. I submitted a notice not to renew my Lease to - on 3 different occasions with a request for an additional 4 days. Payments and adjustments were made and my balance settled. 3 years later -/-/- after a new management company took over the - and branded the community i was sent a collections notice. The notice stated that i had a balance for not paying my rent. After speaking with the collections agents on several occasions i as advised that i had terminated my lease prematurely. On other occasions i was advised that i provided to much notice in advance of the minimum 60 days i was advised that i had to give 60 days and not more or less.
A copy of my ledger was sent to me along with a copy of the charges. A few things are of great concern. 1. ) That an insufficient notice was added the day of my move out -/-/- then removed on -/-/-. I assume this was because the notice for my lease termination was not applied on -/-/- but on -/-/-. 2. ) A correction was made to the charges on - - for both utilities and insufficient notice as this was paid in full on -/-/- to cover through -/-/- including my initial security deposit. 3. ) The ledger shows a $0.00 balance since -/-/-. After 3 years and a - balance ledger i am being sent to collections $0.00 balance plus interest amounting to $1300.00. The original agent i spoke with is still at the current management company and has indicated that this is a regular occurrence and has indicated that she did in fact submit my notice in advance of the 60 days required however i was advised that i would have to go through the collections agency of Hunter Warfield who is unable to or unwilling the reach out to the rep who handled my case. to resolve this issue.
