Equifax Credit reporting department,
Incorrect information on credit report Public record California
I have been informed, that there is a public record reported by ( United States Bankruptcy Court, - - Of California ) in my credit file, you maintain under my social security number. I ordered a copy of my credit report, and I do see an entry from ( United States Bankruptcy Court - - of California ) listing a public record- I do not have a Bankruptcy. I have sent you a dispute, because this information in Not accurate. Per my last conversation with an Equifax representative, was your claim to verify information at the United States Bankruptcy Court - - Of California. I have contacted the United States Bankruptcy Court - - Of California ; and there is no Bankruptcy. The clerk 's office reviewed the Public Record from Equifax, they stated they do NOT provide information to credit reporting agencies, nor do they ever validate a public record. The credit reporting agencies, or other information providers, collect information regarding public cases from the courts public records, by a third party vendor. This information is never validated by the courts, NONE of them validate due to the PRIVACY LAW. The Clerk 's office did not state they are not responsible for INCORRECT public records or the misuse of any information. Public records maybe reported incorrectly, and the Clerk 's office will not communicate to the credit reporting agency on my behalf.
